I’m the mayor of Puerto Ballandra. Seems like we may never leave. http://ff.im/PzvG
Waiting out a norther in Puerto Ballandra. And it’s pizza night! http://ff.im/NyFw
Heading north in the Sea of Cortez. It’s beautiful here. http://ff.im/Kj5a
Successful helping of fellow cruiser with very unhappy iBook. Good deed done, now I can go off to the islands with a clear conscience.
The watched progress bar never fills.
Reinstalling, finally.
Spent much of yesterday helping someone fix a very unhappy iBook G4. That’s the plan for today, too. It’s backup time!
Final provisioning done. We are now free to leave La Paz, but there are still some folks to see.
The dodginess of the mooched wifi is increasing exponentially. I guess that means it’s movie time soon.
Making chocolate ice cream.
Leaving Marina de la Paz, but not leaving La Paz quite yet. There are still friends to see and beer to buy (maybe not in that order).
Problem with Pages still exists but I solved my immediate problem.
Reinstalling Pages. *sigh*
Fighting with Pages. *sigh*

Back in La Paz. That bungee cord everyone talks about is real.
Anchored in Isla San Francisco with a bunch of other boats waiting out the storm http://ff.im/yKFS
Anchored in the crater of an extinct volcano, waiting out a norther. http://ff.im/wBVf
At a beautiful anchorage - unfortunately a little lumpy. Onwards. http://ff.im/vd0Y
I’m tempted to buy a can of fuchsia rustoleum at the next hardware store we visit for the can crusher. Then I can rename it the Crushinator.
Thanks to @mightymur, I picked up some Cap’t Dan & the Scurvy Crew to balance out the Jimmy Buffett. I fear for my anchorage neighbours.
Leaving La Paz. Back in days or months; who knows.
Procrastinating on novel editing. I love the world and the characters, why am I so reluctant to go back there?
It actually feels like January today. The stove’s on, hot water’s running and I’m ensconced in my little hole, typing away. No toque though.
Downloading a bunch of Jimmy Buffett tunes. It help to try and fit in with the neighbours.
Had a “conversation” with a couple nice fellas from the Mexican Navy. After much hand waving it turns out we had to re-anchor. No big deal.

New Year’s plans: hanging with other cruisers at an Italian restaurant. Seems very odd to me, but fun I’m sure.
Turns out we went to the far branch of the good grocery store. There’s another store whose sign we can see from the boat. Sigh.
No idea what to do for Nuevo Año celebration tonight. Maybe fire off expired flares?
